The Hellenistic Greek Period lasts from the death of Alexander the Great in 323 BC to 31 BC when Marc Antony and Cleopatra lost the Battle of Actium to Octavian. The loss at Actium and the subsequent conquest of the Platomic empire in Egypt marked the end of the Greeks. Coins from this period are all influenced by Greek culture, featuring Alexander the Great as well as other rulers and also saw many city state coins appear.
